Yes. Yes. I know that's the most boring animation title ever - but I'm knackered, its one in the morning and the internet's been pratting about for over an hour. At last it looks like I might finally get this thing uploaded. Huzzah! :sarcasm:
But seriously. This piece doesn't deserve a moody "I'm so tired" comment. It's better than that.

It's my first assignment (as the name might suggest) for my Animation course at University. The brief was a bit silly with no real story, just a string of unconnected excersises bunged together; walking, yawning, stretching, biting (although this was a new one), picking up, lifting, dropping and dust effects. Not the most engaging project in the world.
But I gave myself interesting, expressive characters and I tried to make them act and look like they were thinking ('cos that's what animation's really about, don'cha know). I'd have included more explosions, but the breif specifically forbode me.
It went really well. I spend solid days locked in a room working on it (while everyone else was playing on our brand new PS2, may I add) and I didn't get bored once. And even better, when I tested it - I had it right first time; I didn't need to change anything! I think that's a first!
The man (dubbed "Naked Neddy" for the time being) has got such a great face to play with (terror is so much fun to portray) that I really think there's some character there. Some believability. Even the dog looks sleepy. The only real issues are some weighting problems and... yeah. The end.
Sorry about that, everyone. I knew it would be pants when I did it, but I was rushing it for the deadline and I couldn't let the action fall off the page. The fact is that the brief said "drops the dog" so I'll probably lose marks for it anyway. My tutor can be a little tight about that sort of thing. But other than that, there's nothing at all wrong with it.

I really like it. I'm proud of it. I don't care what grade it gets cos I made it and it looks good to me. That's what I love about animation - the moment where you see it moving for the first time and, no matter how small or crappy it is, you feel really accomplished. But it's not small or crappy - it's over two-hundred frames, several seconds long, and pretty bloody good for a first assignment.

And on that note, I'm going to bed.

If you're wondering how to actually watch the thing, it's an avi. You need to download it, silly =P

The True Moral of The Battle of Trenton is, If you Party Too Hardy, George Washington Will Kick Your Ass.
...Who's been attacking my banana?
Oh wow. That was so smooth. Absolutely brilliant. The ending just made me crack up. Lol, that was great, can't wait for assignment 2!

Emily: Kiya! The council of Necromancers want to speak with you!
Kiya: Over my dead body!
Emily: Funny you should mention that...
Cool, I never got to see it at uni. The timing is perfect, I'm just wondering why my animation, that I've seen so far from others, is the only one with a simple drop of the dog?!?!?!?!

"Is it that show about the little girl that wanders around the jungle without any adult supervision, averting crises and conversing with wild animals with the aid of her foreign-language-speaking monkey?"
